About Prickly Pear Kennels
Prickly Pear Kennels is a veterinarian supervised pudelpointer breeder based in Frisco Texas. Prickly Pear Kennels was founded by Matthew and Coleman out of the necessity to spread the excellence of the pudelpointer breed to sportsmen and women across the country. It was founded on the principle of breeding for extraordinary temperaments, great health, and excellence in the field. Every step the kennel has taken was made in order to produce the highest quality bird dogs in the field and in the home. Our hope is to pair families with the missing puzzle piece their home is missing, and filling in that gap with the ideal companion for waterfowling, upland hunting, blood trailing, outdoor experiences, and family companionship.
Dr. David Cinclair d.v.m. supervises and advises ideal care and lifestyle for all operations at Prickly Pear Kennels. All breeding is done under close supervision by one of the best in the business in order to provide the best quality of life that the dogs deserve. All dogs at Prickly Pear Kennels are screened by OFA prior to breeding to examine the hips and elbows. We here at Prickly Pear Kennels are very serious about two things; producing top notch pudelpointers and taking every precaution to provide the best life for our dogs. We love our dogs and hope to share that love with you.
Coleman Taylor
Coleman is a Senior Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture major with a concentration in pre-vet at Mississippi State University. Coleman was born and raised in Frisco Texas. He developed a fascination with the outdoors at a very young age spending as much time outdoors as his parents would allow whether fishing, hunting, or exploring the woods on family land in Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma. Growing up Coleman’s family always had hunting dogs, but it wasn’t until 2014 when he was introduced to the world of versatile hunting dogs when his family got their first PudelPointer.
Matthew Cinclair
Matthew is a senior Biomedical Sciences major at Texas A&M university pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. He has grown up in the world of dogs his entire life with his father being a veterinarian. He is now working as a veterinary technician while simultaneously obtaining his undergraduate degree. Matthew grew up in Plano, Tx and found a passion for waterfowl, deer, and upland bird hunting. It was when he got his first German shorthair, fig, that he also found his passion for versatile hunting dogs. Matthew co-founded prickly pear kennels with the desire to produce top of the line bird dogs to share the joy of hunting with a companion. Matthew is an avid hunter who understands the pure pleasure of working with a high energy bird dog in the field.
